What is EZProxy?

Most of the libraries' electronic resources can be consulted from a computer outside of the University campus (EZProxy service).

However, the contracts imposed by the scientific information providers strictly limit the conditions for remote, off-campus access via a proxy to electronic resources. The EZProxy server providing access to the electronic documentation resources purchased by ULB is therefore configured to meet the demands of publishers, in accordance with the terms of the access licences.

Who can use the service?

Only students and staff members with an active position at ULB (including honorary positions), as well as staff at the Erasmus academic hospital, are allowed to access the electronic periodicals outside of the ULB campuses.
  • To obtain an honorary position, a person must be a designated scientific collaborator (teaching or industrial…) following the procedure in place in the Faculties. Please contact your Faculty to find out about the conditions of award and the steps to be taken.
  • If you are a retired ULB professor or researcher, you can request an honorary position (University Professor / Guest Professor or Guest Researcher) by following the procedure in place in the Faculties. Please contact your Faculty to find out about the conditions of award and the steps to be taken.

How do I log in?

  • At the top of this page, click on the "Login to EZProxy" button. Log in using your ULBID. Once you have logged in, you will be redirected to the libraries home page, where you can begin your search.
Alternatively, you can also log into the Cible+ discovery tool using your ULBID. You will then be automatically recognised by the EZProxy service when you attempt to access an electronic resource.
  • Access is obtained using your ULB user ID, or ULBID, and the password associated with it, known as the "QuIdAM password". Your ULBID was sent to your personal inbox in a message entitled "Welcome to ULB" or "Creating your ULB account", following your enrolment at ULB.
  • ULB accounts are personal, and user IDs and passwords may not be disclosed to any external persons.

Please note

  • EZProxy does not provide access to all the electronic resources available at the ULB Libraries: some publishers limit the use of their products to the ULB intranet. To carry out a complete search, you will therefore need to go to one of the ULB campuses.
  • Any use of the electronic publications available on the ULB Intranet for commercial purposes is prohibited (in accordance with the applicable regulations on intellectual property rights).
  • The electronic resources for which a fee is charged have been purchased under licences that define the rights and duties of users. The use of these electronic resources is strictly reserved for teaching, research or private use; all mass downloading is prohibited.
